Who is eligible to join Educators Rising?
Everyone! Our organization goes beyond CEHD. We welcome any Mason student of any major to join us if they are interested in the education field. Graduate students are also welcome, but cannot be E-board members nor vote.
What is the mission of Educators Rising?
Educators Rising Collegiate strives to help prepare individuals to become effective educators who advocate for their profession by providing professional development, leadership development, and opportunities geared towards allowing aspiring educators to make an impact.
Why should students join Educators Rising?
Students should join our organization because it is an excellent network and an opportunity to build community where you can learn about processes to become a teacher, apply for scholarships and get a foot in the door with schools with shadowing, subbing, or tutoring. If you plan to teach in the future, Educators Rising will help you build the confidence and tools you need to become an effective educator.
What kinds of events does your organization offer?
In the past, we have planned a lesson plan workshop, the first day of the school-themed meeting, and an interview workshop with a principal from Loudoun County Public Schools.
What is your favorite thing about being in Educators Rising?
My favorite thing about being in Educators Rising is the community we have made. It is incredible to have so many people interested in the same profession in one room. There is so much dialogue that is extremely beneficial for all future educators to hear.

Is there anything else you think the Mason CEHD community should know about Educators Rising?
We will be attending the 2022 Yardfest occurring on Sunday, October 16, 2022, from 10:30 am-2 pm. Also, our goal is for every General Body meeting to be held on the second Friday of each month, though it might be subject to change based on schedules.
