Plan Your Day

The task of writing can feel overwhelming, especially when you’ve committed 8+ hours to it.

Alleviate your anxiety by breaking your day down into smaller, more manageable writing blocks with intervals in between for meals and rest. Start by setting some goals, and then use an agenda template at the bottom of this page to schedule your day into feasible segments.

Set Your WOOP Goals Worksheet
Set Your Goals

WOOP Goals – Wish, Outcome, Obstacle, and Plan – is a mental strategy that ultimately helps people realize and meet their goals/wishes. Its approach not only encourages people to imagine their wish but also to imagine the obstacles that will get in the way and decide on a plan to overcome them. It can be used for long-term or short-term goals. For today’s Retreat, your goals should be short-term.

Click here to learn more about WOOP and work through an exercise to help you create and meet your goals. If you’d like, use the worksheet below to help you keep track of your goals and cross them off as you complete them.

Once you’ve finished setting your goals, plug them into the recommended schedule below and then move on to the next section of this Retreat, Declare Your Goals, to learn how to share them with your peers.
