Fulbright DAST Opportunity for K-12 Teachers

The Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Short-Term Program for U.S. Teachers (Fulbright DAST) provides an opportunity for outstanding K–12 teachers from the United States to take part in a two- to six-week professional development experience overseas. Fulbright DAST Cycle II projects will take place in 12 different countries between October 2019 – May 2020.

Brazil: Training Early-Career Brazilian Math Teachers in Project Based Learning Techniques
Ghana: Promoting STEM Education Among Ghanaian Girls
Mexico: Strengthening the Pedagogical Skills and Content Knowledge of Pre-Service and In-Service Mexican STEM Teachers
Philippines: Sharing American Culture through Integrating ICT into Teacher Professional Development Workshops 
Uganda: Promoting STEM Education at a Rural Ugandan School
Uzbekistan: Developing a STEM Curriculum to Pilot in Uzbek Public Schools
Vietnam: Enhancing Vietnamese STEM Educators’ Use of English as Medium of Instruction

Cambodia: Training Cambodian Primary School EFL Educators in Use of New ELT Textbooks
Colombia: Providing Future Colombian English Teachers with Leadership and Peace-Building Skills to Benefit Rural Communities

Fulbright DAST Activities:

Two- to six-week professional development experience abroad: Outstanding elementary, middle, and high school teachers (eligibility varies by site) from the United States have the opportunity to take part in a two- to six-week professional development experience abroad.

Collaborative Projects: Teachers will have the opportunity to share their educational expertise on this program by serving in their role consulting with and providing support for schools, nonprofit organizations, teacher training institutions, and other educational organizations abroad.
