The Student Support and Advocacy Center (SSAC) and Early Identification Program (EIP) are hiring a Financial Well-Being Peer Mentor for Summer 2023, Fall 2023, and Spring 2024. Please read below for more information and apply on Mason360 by Monday, May 15, 2023


Position Pay, Commitment, & Eligibility Requirements:

Rate: $17.00 per hour

Part-Time: Up to 10 hours a week commitment

Open to graduate and undergraduate students. Experience working with students preferred.

Position Details:

The Financial Well-Being Peer Mentor (FWB Peer Mentor) will play an integral role in mentoring and assisting EIP high school students with understanding the financial cost of higher education. The FWB Peer Mentor will assist students and their families through small group coaching, lead workshops, and individual counseling; and provide continuous mentorship to high school students throughout the upcoming school year. The FWB Peer Mentor will have experience in mentoring high school aged students along with an understanding of the complexities that come with reading financial award letters, applying for the FAFSA, and transitioning from high school to college as first-generation college students. The FWB Peer Mentor will directly report to the Assistant Director for Financial Well-Being in the Student Support and Advocacy Center (SSAC). In addition, the FWB Peer Mentor will work closely with the Assistant Director for College Readiness, Early Identification Program (EIP). The FWB Peer Mentor will be an in-person and virtual position for Summer 2023 to Spring 2024.
