An Invitation to Share Your Innovation

Every April, the School of Business hosts the Deans’ Business Plan Competition. This interdisciplinary competition is open to any current Mason students or recent alumni (undergraduate and graduate, in all fields of study) and CEHD students are encouraged to participate. A total of $30,000 worth of cash and prizes is at stake.

The competition, particularly through its social impact track, offers an opportunity for CEHD students to pursue an idea for their own business, work on their advocacy/communication skills, and would also be a great experience to bring up during a job interview. In fact, last year, a team of CEHD students (Jessica Pic, a PhD candidate in the College of Education and Human Development, Kimberlie Fair MED Curriculum and Instruction ’15, and Matthew Randon MED Curriculum and Instruction ’16 ) won the second place award ($2,500) with their app: “Math-ish.” This year’s winning idea could be yours.

The competition will be held during the “2018 Day of Innovation” on the Fairfax campus in the MIX@Fenwick on April 12th from 11am-5pm.

In preparation for the event, workshops are also being offered for students to get feedback on their ideas and work on their applications.
